The brief
This beautiful Sevenoaks property was extensively expanded and refurbished in 2018/9 to accommodate a growing family’s needs.
Under the direction of celebrated local Architect Carmen Austin, The Window Sanctuary were awarded the contract to supply and install new aluminium windows, doors and an impressive curtain wall feature to the main façade.
Our approach
All window and door products were produced in thermally efficient aluminium systems.
The clients were particularly pleased with the “can do” attitude of our fitters and their ability to coordinate seamlessly with Simon King Construction, the chosen Builders.
A total of eighteen windows, six door sets and 24m² of curtain wall were successfully installed on time and on budget.
Product focus
Modern aluminium windows are highly thermally efficient, so they have very good energy efficiency. They also stop any future chance, or heavily reduce any future chance, of condensation through a hot/cold transfer. Due to the slim aluminium frames, a lot of architects tend to specify them on their projects. In addition to the slimline frames and thermal efficiency – the aluminium windows come in a range of colours to suit your home.
One project in particular used anthracite grey, which is a RAL colour, in a nice matt finish, so it didn’t look too modern. The customers were trying to create, or trying to retain, an Arts and Crafts style theme as well as reducing any future maintenance costs. So rather than 1930s style timber frames, they decided to fit the windows direct to the brickwork with tile hanging above, for that character appearance, but with no maintenance.
The result

The result is nothing less than a total transformation of the home!

Manufactured in the UK, using the highest quality materials, our aluminium doors comprise of double polyamide thermal break sections which dramatically minimise any chance of condensation. Aluminium doors and windows offer an excellent and cost-effective alternative for replacing draughty, old steel windows. With their slim sightlines and thermal break technology the windows and doors use the latest Low-E Planitherm double-glazed units, which are argon gas-filled, and include Swiss warm-edge spacers for added insulation.
